Hot cocktail with “GREGO MANIFESTO”

Hearing the word “tsipouro” the first thought is: “with” or “without”? Connoisseurs of this particular spirit understand that the question concerns the addition of aniseed. The mind continues to form the image that surrounds the tsipouro and ends up at a traditional table, next to the sea or on the mountain, with appetizers served on small plates suitable to accompany it.

The winery-distillery of the Apostolaki family was one of the first to offer something new, giving a breath of creative concern. Taking as a basis the tradition in the production of tsipouro brings a new dimension and challenge trying to educate his audience in a new venture. What is this? Starting with many experiments, always guided by the passion for spirits, the “GREGO MANIFESTO” is born.

The bet is won by creating a purely Greek drink with natural distillation. This is the 2-year aged tsipouro produced exclusively from grape vines of the Hamburg Muscat variety planted in the fine Thessalian vineyards.

It is distilled and aged in oak barrels that give it its specific amber color. It is a high-end aged spirit with complex aromas of flowers, vanilla, honey and dried fruit on the nose, a smooth texture in the mouth and a nice, clean and long finish. Its serving suggestion is with ice and an orange peel, but at the same time it is an ideal base for unique cocktails.

Therefore, we prepare a warm, wintery and unforgettable cocktail that accompanies us in the evenings and takes us to new worlds.

Materials

60 ml aged tsipouro MANIFESTO GREGO family Apostolakis

  • 20 ml triple sec
  • 15 ml orange juice
  • ½ tbsp. honey
  • 1 star anise
  • Orange peel

Execution

Put the triple sec, orange juice, honey and star anise in a kettle. Place on medium heat until the mixture heats up for 3 minutes, the anise releases its aromas, and then add the aged tsipouro “MANIFESTO GREGO”. Stir and serve immediately in a deep, round, stemmed glass with an orange peel.
